The ZLM Tour has grown into a multi-day stage race with a well-established place on the international cycling calendar. For many years, the race was regarded as an important preparation event for the Tour de France, particularly for sprinters sharpening their form in the Netherlands, with riders such as Mark Cavendish and André Greipel among its former winners.

From 2026 onwards, the race takes on a new position on the calendar directly after the summer period, serving as preparation for the European and World Championships, while disciplines such as the individual time trial will play a more prominent role.

Connected to regions, partners and international teams

The ZLM Tour is organised in collaboration with title sponsor ZLM Verzekeringen and regional partners, particularly in Zeeland and North Brabant. The race connects these regions to the international cycling world and annually attracts a strong field of participants, including WorldTour teams, emerging talents and leading Dutch riders.

From media partnerships to start and finish operations

As organiser of the ZLM Tour, LPC is responsible for the complete delivery of the race — from permits and route development to race operations and execution. Safety plays a central role throughout, with continuous attention given to optimising the course, traffic measures and collaboration with local authorities and emergency services. In modern cycling, this has become an essential part of delivering elite sport responsibly.

At the same time, LPC actively works on strengthening the race’s position within the international calendar, including its move to September in the lead-up to the European and World Championships. LPC also plays a key role in developing partnerships and shaping the event’s marketing and communications strategy, focused on visibility, audience reach and regional engagement.

Within this strategy, a partnership was established with RTL Nederland and Videoland, enabling the race to reach a broad audience through television and online platforms. In close coordination with teams, including WorldTour organisations, the sporting profile of the race continues to evolve to meet the needs of riders and teams alike.

A platform for sprinters, specialists and emerging talent

Through its recognisable parcours, strong calendar position and diverse field of competitors, the ZLM Tour creates opportunities for both established names and emerging talent. Sprinters, classics specialists and time trial riders all have their place within the race, while the event continues to provide a stage for new cycling history in the Netherlands.

On towards the successors of riders such as Olav Kooij, Lars Boom, Philippe Gilbert and Mark Cavendish.
