During the 2026 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships, the world’s best cyclo-cross riders came together in a championship where sport, organisation and spectators met at the highest level. On a demanding and technical course featuring muddy sections, sharp corners and constant changes in pace and surface, the races were decided lap after lap. Against that backdrop, Mathieu van der Poel made history by claiming his eighth world title, while Lucinda Brand secured the women’s world championship title.

Supporting the organisation

The championship was delivered in collaboration with H2O Group and Stichting Vestingcross, with LPC supporting the organisation as an expert partner. Working closely with both the UCI and KNWU, the event was developed into a championship that successfully combined international sporting standards with strong regional roots.

Ready, Set, Hulst.

With packed spectator zones, international attention and performances that immediately earned their place in cycling history, the championship became an edition that once again highlighted the appeal of cyclo-cross. The event demonstrated how strong organisation creates the stage for moments that continue to define the sport.
