From 10 to 14 January 2024, Omnisport Apeldoorn hosted the European Track Championships. In an Olympic year, Europe’s top riders gathered in Apeldoorn for the final major benchmark event on the road to Paris. Riders competed for European titles at the highest level, while a sold-out finals weekend created an atmosphere in which sport and spectators elevated one another.

Connected with the city and its partners

The championship was delivered in collaboration with the KNWU, international cycling organisations and regional partners including the Municipality of Apeldoorn and the Province of Gelderland. In the lead-up to the event, strong connections were made with the city through public activations, side events and collaborations with local creators and organisations.

A soundtrack with Spinnin’ Records and record champions as ambassadors

Within this collaboration, LPC developed an approach in which sport, activation and culture came together. Record champions Harrie Lavreysen and Kirsten Wild served as ambassadors for the championship, giving the event a recognisable face that inspired and connected audiences. In addition, the official soundtrack by Larce — released through Spinnin’ Records — deliberately strengthened the connection between sport and culture, making the championship visible and tangible beyond the velodrome itself.

Go for Excellence!

With a sold-out finals weekend, a strong international field of riders and an extensive activation programme, the strategy “Go for Excellence!” became clearly visible throughout the championship. For riders, it meant performing at the very highest level; for fans, it created an immersive experience; and for the organisation, it meant delivering an event where sport, city and activation seamlessly came together.
