New stage location for the 2026 multi-day race!

Waalwijk will officially become a stage location for the ZLM Tour next year. Libéma Profcycling, organiser of the multi-day race, announced today that both the start and finish of the final stage on Sunday 6 September will take place in Waalwijk. The municipal executive of Waalwijk decided this week to proudly bring the race to the municipality.

Waalwijk, City of Sport, Welcomes Cycling Race

Waalwijk Alderman Timon Klerx is looking forward to the race with great enthusiasm: “We are proud that Waalwijk will be the start and finish location for the final stage of the ZLM Tour in 2026. It is a fantastic opportunity to put our municipality on the map through sport and bring residents closer together. This race fits perfectly with our ambition to encourage movement and celebrate sport within our community. We are going to make it a great sporting day for spectators and other sports enthusiasts in Waalwijk.”

“Waalwijk has a friendly, welcoming character and strong regional engagement. As a logistics hotspot in the Netherlands and an important link in national and international distribution, Waalwijk can rightly be called a leading city. We are delighted that Waalwijk will be part of the ZLM Tour 2026!”

A new moment on the cycling calendar

Next year, the race will be organised directly after the summer for the first time. The ZLM Tour is known as a high-quality race that attracts top teams and leading riders. By staging the race in September, it will better align with the schedules of riders and teams, while creating space in the cycling calendar for an attractive week of racing. This increases the chances of securing a strong and appealing field of participants and delivering exciting sporting performances, especially in the build-up to the European and World Cycling Championships, which are also scheduled during that period.

Stage schedule nearly complete

The ZLM Tour 2026 will take place from 2 to 6 September. With the time trial in Kapelle and the stages Westkapelle–Heinkenszand, Schijndel–Schijndel and Waalwijk–Waalwijk now confirmed, almost all stages are known.

It promises to be a spectacular edition for riders, spectators, partners and municipalities, and above all, a new edition ready to write cycling history.
