Last weekend, 160 junior riders from 16 countries created a strong international field at Omnisport Apeldoorn. The junior Nations Cup is regarded as the key moment where the best U19 riders from each country go head-to-head.

A stage for the next generation

The race brought together a strong mix of national and international talent. Among those on the start list was Imke Menting, who recently competed at the Dutch National Championships. British junior world champions Ioan Hepburn and Kristian Larigo also returned to Apeldoorn, after claiming the world title in the team sprint there last summer.

Development at international level

The Nations Cup gives young riders the opportunity to test themselves against the international elite in their category. In doing so, the event marks an important step in their development towards the highest level of cycling.

Continuously building talent

With events like this, and in close collaboration with partners and involved organisations, we continue to build an environment where talent can develop and gain experience at international level. In doing so, we create a stage where the next generation of cyclists can showcase themselves and continue to grow within the sport.
