We are proud to share that the European BMX Freestyle Championships will return to Eindhoven at Area51 in 2028. Following a successful 2025 edition, the Championships will once again take place in a city where sport, culture and the urban community come together.

Building a strong international championship

The previous edition showed how BMX Freestyle can grow into an event where elite sport and experience go hand in hand. Together with BrabantSport, the Municipality of Eindhoven and the Province of North Brabant, preparations are underway for a championship that brings together sporting quality and social impact, with room for both international top athletes and the energy of the urban scene.

Part of the Dutch Cycling Festival

In 2028, the European BMX Freestyle Championships will be part of the Dutch Cycling Festival: the year-round cycling programme marking the KNWU’s 100th anniversary. This places the Championships within a broader context, showcasing cycling in all its disciplines to a wide audience.

From preparation to execution

In the lead-up to 2028, work is underway in close collaboration with partners and involved organisations to create an event where every element comes together, from preparation through to delivery. The result will be a championship that unites sporting performance, experience and social impact, while once again creating space for new BMX Freestyle and cycling moments.
